The design process
Planning & structure
We discuss your business, your customers and your goals. I plan how to structure your site for local search, create a sitemap and wireframe the key pages. This is where we figure out what content you need and how to organise it so customers understand what you offer immediately.
Design
I create website mockups showing the homepage and key pages. You'll see what your site will look like before I build anything. We refine the design together until it's exactly right.
Build & test
Once designs are approved, I build your site as HTML pages first so you can review the layout, structure and content clearly. Once approved I convert everything to a custom WordPress site, add functionality and optimise for SEO. I test across all devices and browsers to make sure everything works perfectly.
Launch
Final revisions, training if you want it, then launch. I include one round of main revisions plus 2–3 further rounds, but I keep going until you're happy. After launch, ongoing support packages keep your site maintained and updated.

Custom WordPress websites start from £3,500 for a 5-8 page site and range up to £6,000+ depending on complexity. A straightforward business site typically costs £3,500-4,100. Sites with 10+ pages, e-commerce functionality, or custom features start from £5,000. This includes custom design, development, and SEO optimization. I can provide a fixed quote once I understand your needs.
You can, and for some businesses they work fine. But if you’re a growing business competing with other professionals, template sites often look generic and have limitations. WordPress gives you full control, better SEO capabilities and the ability to add any functionality you need as you grow. You’re not locked into a platform’s restrictions.
WordPress gives you ownership, flexibility and long-term support without platform limits. It’s not going anywhere. I’ve been building WordPress sites for 18 years and it remains the best choice for businesses that want sites they can grow with.
Typically 6 to 10 weeks from start to launch, depending on complexity and how quickly you can provide content. The timeline depends more on content gathering than on design or development.
That’s what my ongoing support packages are for. Minor tweaks and updates are included in monthly maintenance packages (from £120/month). Bigger changes are billed separately or handled within higher tier support packages.
No. WordPress is intuitive for basic updates and I include training if you want it. But most clients prefer I handle technical updates for them through monthly support packages.
Yes. For website builds, payment is typically split into three stages: deposit at start, midway payment when designs are approved, and final payment at launch. We can discuss a schedule that works for your budget.
Yes. Every website I build is structured for search visibility from the start. This includes SEO-optimised page structure, proper heading hierarchy, meta descriptions, schema markup for local businesses and internal linking strategy. For local businesses, I also optimise content for local search terms and set up your site to appear in Google Maps results. Ongoing SEO campaigns are not included, but your site is built with a solid foundation for search.
You need to provide the base content about your business, services and what you offer. You know your business best. I help structure and organise this content, suggest improvements and sometimes rewrite sections for clarity. I’m not a copywriter, so I don’t write full website content from scratch. Most clients find this works well as they can explain their business in their own words and I make sure it’s presented properly on the website.
